Space of Time Gallery Residency space

Space of Time Residency welcomes international artists and creatives to apply for our 2026 residency. The gallery is a sanctuary that combines art and nature, tucked away in a quiet farming village on the outskirts of the historic city of Beijing. The exhibition program at the gallery bridges Western contemporary art and Eastern traditional craftsmanship, connecting the modern and the classic. The new residency program extends the gallery’s philosophy, welcoming like-minded artists and creatives to join the gallery’s international community and experience the unique architecture & landscape. The residency intends to provide a concentrated environment, a space and time for artists and creatives to sense, to research and be inspired.

The gallery will organise tours to visit some of the significant historic sites in and around Beijing. Specific traditional Chinese art tours and workshop visits can also be requested. The gallery is happy to support any creative interests the artists-in-residence have within our networks in contemporary art and traditional craft. Please include any specific interests you would like to discuss in your application.

Each artist-in-residence will have an artist portrait taken at the gallery, as well as a portfolio review session with the gallery founder.
